This book has only two chapters and is part of the Old Testament. Its authorship is attributed to the prophet himself “In the second year of King Darius, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua, the son of Jozadak, the high priest, saying: Thus says the Lord of hosts, saying: These people say: The time has not yet come, the time in which the house of the Lord should be built.” (Hag 1,1:2).
