KING JAMES VERSION (KJV)

Malachi

Old Testament

The book of Malachi is the last book of the Old Testament, and appears after the book of Zechariah. Its author is unknown, and this may be the only “anonymously” written book in this prophetic section. This occurs because, in addition to the name not appearing explicitly, the name Malaquias can be a proper name or a noun used as a title.

Above all, the book does not contain biographical references about the prophet. Tradition attributes the authorship to the scribe Ezra (although he was not called a prophet or messenger). Therefore, the information cited in the book may in fact be announced by a prophet called Malachi, or this expression may refer to a person who may be behind Malachi, who performed the feats described in this book, even if this is not the person. your own name.
